1. Must my title be in digital format when I submit it?
Yes, preferably. You can submit files in MS Word, Pagemaker, QuarkXPress, PDF.


2. Who owns the copyright to the book?
Author keep all rights to their work. You own the copyright of your  book - nobody else.


3. How often do I get my royalty payment? How is it sent to me?
Sales report are emailed quarterly if sales surpass 10 copies per month. Likewise, author's earnings are paid quarterly. We prefer to eBank the money, or to pay by Paypal.


4. How much discount do I get if I order my own book?
Authors are entitled to following discounts if they order their own book through 1st Book Publishing:

Orders are shipped directly to the address designated by the author. Above percentages are applicable if you only need limited stock.


5. What trim sizes can my POD book have?
-Trade paperbacks with 4-color covers in seven trim sizes (5"x8", 5.5"x8.5", 6"x9", 6.14x9.21, 7.44x9.69, 7.5"x9.25", and 8.25"x11") -Hardcover books, jacketed: 5.5"x8.5", 6"x9", and 6.14"x9.21"
-Hardcover books with either a 4-color cover or a stamped Kivar  acrylic cover: 5.5"x8.5", 6"x9", and 6.14"x9.21" hardcovers -POD titles must also have the following additional specifications:
Black and white interior content (including half tones) Maximum footprint of text on page is 7.5"x10.5" Bulk between 108 and 748 pages, and the total page count must be divisible by four.


6. What materials are used in 1st Book Publishing print-on-demand books?
Your book will have a high quality, acid-free, book-grade of opaque paper stock. All books with trim sizes of 6"x9" or smaller are printed on a 55# natural shade opaque. Larger books are printed on a 50# white. Paperback covers are printed on a bright white 80# cover stock.

7. How long does it take to print and ship orders?
-POD wholesale orders are printed and shipped within 2 business days.
-Author?s direct orders through 1st Book Publishing are printed and  shipped within 5-10 business days.
-Hardcover books are printed and shipped within 10-15 days.

8. How many free copies of my book do I receive with my signup?
-You receive 10 FREE books with your signup for the Gold Package.
-You receive 20 FREE books with your signup for Platinum Package.
-Books are printed and shipped to your address within 10-15 days.
